Request a Quote for WooCommerce is Addify’s flagship B2B plugin on the official WooCommerce Marketplace. It lets wholesale, distributor and project-based customers send quote requests instead of placing instant orders — hiding price and add-to-cart for selected user roles and replacing them with a Request a Quote button that feeds a full admin-side quote management workflow.
I built the plugin end to end — the quote cart model, the admin quote-management UI, the quote-to-order conversion flow, and the per-role visibility logic. It is the highest-reviewed Addify plugin on the marketplace and the one most B2B stores reach for first when they need a real quote workflow inside WooCommerce.
The problem it solves
B2B and wholesale customers rarely buy at sticker price. They expect to negotiate, request volume discounts, ask about lead times, and get a formal quote before committing. Out of the box, WooCommerce assumes the storefront-to-checkout flow that consumer stores need — there is no concept of a quote request, no admin queue, and no way to hide pricing from buyers until a salesperson approves it.
The plugin gives stores a complete quote workflow that lives inside the WooCommerce admin, so merchants do not need a separate CRM bolted on the side to handle wholesale enquiries.
What the plugin does
It turns any WooCommerce store into a hybrid retail + quote-driven storefront with role-aware pricing and a dedicated quote management area:
- Replace add-to-cart with a Request a Quote button — per product, category or user role, with a separate quote cart
- Hide prices conditionally — for guests, wholesale roles, or specific catalog segments
- Admin quote management UI — a queue of incoming quotes with status, customer detail, line items and internal notes
- Quote-to-order conversion — convert an approved quote into a real WooCommerce order with one click, including the negotiated prices
- Customer-side quote history — buyers see their open and historical quotes inside the My Account area
- Email notifications for every state change — submitted, replied, approved, converted
- Per-role and per-product control — wholesale buyers see quote buttons, retail buyers keep the standard checkout
- Custom fields on the quote form — collect VAT numbers, target delivery dates and project context
How it is built
The plugin uses a custom post type for quotes with its own admin list table, status taxonomy and meta boxes. Front-end behaviour is layered onto WooCommerce through filters like woocommerce_is_purchasable, woocommerce_get_price_html and the loop add-to-cart actions, so the plugin never forks core templates — it composes with them. The quote cart sits on top of a session-backed store separate from the WooCommerce cart, and quote-to-order conversion uses the WooCommerce CRUD API so the resulting order behaves like any other.
The codebase is OOP with namespaced classes, fully translatable, HPOS-compatible, and ships with REST endpoints so headless and external CRM integrations can read and update quotes programmatically.
Marketplace adoption
Hundreds of B2B and wholesale stores rely on the plugin every day, and it has become Addify’s most-requested product on the official WooCommerce Marketplace. The 4.7-star rating across 157 reviews reflects the kind of feedback you only get when merchants depend on a tool inside their daily ops.
- Marketplace rating: 4.7 stars — based on 157 customer reviews on the official WooCommerce Marketplace
- Flagship Addify B2B product — the most-installed B2B plugin in the Addify catalogue
- Active B2B customer base — wholesalers, distributors and project-sales stores use it as the backbone of their enquiry flow
- Years on the marketplace — continuously maintained and updated through WooCommerce and WordPress major releases
- Quote-to-order conversion is the unlock — eliminates the spreadsheet-and-email handoff that used to live between sales and ops
