Abandoned Cart Recovery for WooCommerce tracks every cart — guest or logged-in — and drives automated email sequences to win the sale back. Merchants configure a multi-step recovery cadence with cart restore links and time-triggered discount codes, and the dashboard reports on recovery rate so the campaign can be tuned.
I built this as a full marketing-automation engine inside WooCommerce — the cart-capture layer, the scheduled email engine, the discount generator and the recovery analytics dashboard. It is one of the more reliable abandoned-cart plugins in the Addify catalogue because the cart-capture handles guest sessions without breaking page-load performance.
The problem it solves
Abandoned cart rates across ecommerce hover around 70%. That is the single largest pile of leakable revenue in any store, and WooCommerce captures none of it out of the box — once a customer leaves without checking out, the cart is forgotten and the opportunity is gone.
The plugin closes the leak by capturing every cart, identifying the buyer, and running a recovery sequence designed to bring them back with the right incentive at the right time.
What the plugin does
A full marketing-automation engine wired into the WooCommerce cart and checkout:
- Track guest and logged-in carts — capture email at the earliest checkout interaction
- Automated multi-step email sequences — schedule recovery emails at custom intervals
- One-click cart restore links — recover the exact cart contents in one click
- Discount code generation — auto-issue a coupon in a later sequence step
- Recovery analytics dashboard — recovery rate, attributed revenue and email engagement
- Email template editor — customise subject, body and CTA per sequence step
- Per-campaign targeting — different sequences for high-value carts vs low-value carts
- Bulk cart export — pull abandoned cart data for external CRM sync
How it is built
Cart capture happens on the standard WooCommerce checkout email-field interaction — a single AJAX call writes the cart snapshot to a custom database table, keyed by an opaque token that becomes the restore link. The scheduling engine runs on Action Scheduler so deliveries fire reliably on stores that get spotty WP-Cron behaviour. Email templates use the WooCommerce email class so they inherit the store’s branded header/footer, and discount codes are generated through the standard WooCommerce coupon CRUD so they show up correctly in reporting.
The plugin is HPOS-compatible, GDPR-aware around cart-data retention, fully translatable, and integrates with SMTP plugins through the standard wp_mail path.
Marketplace adoption
A 4.6-star rating across 28 reviews on the official WooCommerce Marketplace reflects the reliability merchants expect from a recovery tool — when a recovery email fails to send, real revenue gets lost. The plugin is used by stores in every category where abandoned-cart recovery is part of the marketing stack.
- Marketplace rating: 4.6 stars — based on 28 customer reviews on the official WooCommerce Marketplace
- Action Scheduler reliability — recovery emails deliver on schedule even on busy stores
- Attributed revenue tracking — merchants see which sequence steps drive recovery dollars
- Active customer base across categories — apparel, electronics, B2B and subscription stores
- Multi-year tenure on the marketplace — continuously maintained alongside WooCommerce releases
